Marine Valves

Global Trade Link specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of high-integrity valves and fittings to the UK Ministry of Defence (Navy) and foreign navies worldwide. The GTL product portfolio includes pressure reducing, pressure sustaining, relief/safety relief valves and submarine in line valves.

Naval Valves and Fittings

Our range of naval valves and fittings include: Pressure Reducing Valves Pressure reducing valves for naval applications are manufactured to NES375 and NES 360, in sizes from 15mm to 200mm with a maximum working pressures up to 275 bar and more. Comprehensive stock is carried to service the needs of fleets. We also specialise in the manufacture and design of special valves to customer’s specifications, having our own pattern making and foundry facility enables us to turn ideas into reality quickly and under our control. The company specialises in providing solutions where the original equipment is no longer available to the Ministry of Defence (Navy) or fit for purpose. During the past three years the majority of pressure reducing valves fitted to new naval shipping have been supplied by GTL. This means that the usual warming up period can be significantly reduced.

Relief and Safety Relief Valves

Relief and safety relief valves complement our reducing valve range, manufactured to NES 375 and NES 360. They are used to protect equipment and pipelines downstream from over pressurisation and are available in a range of sizes from 15mm to 200mm with a maximum working pressure of up to 400 Bar. Safety valves differ from conventional relief valves in the fact that they are accredited to a national body, either the American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) or to other European Standards such as BS 6759 and TUV. The safety valves manufactured by GTL are to the API specification, and expanded to ASME, BS 6759 and TUV. Typical applications for the above types of valves include:

Auxiliary steam systems

Desalination units

Diesel exhaust

Diesel seawater cooling

Diesel lube oil systems

Main feed water systems

Hot and cold domestic systems

Trim bilge and ballast systems

Chilled water systems

Fire fighting systems

Submarine Inline Hull Valves

Inline and hull penetration valves

All products are designed and/or manufactured to suit shipbuilders' specific requirements for first level applications. Multiple Valve Chests, Manifolds and Bulkhead Fittings SDSL/SDNR/Gate valves all designed and/or manufactured to suit specific requirements. The company specialises in producing valves in Nickel Aluminium Bronze and Cupro Nickel to all relevant national and international naval engineering specifications. Full radiographic, dye-penetrant and ultrasonic wall thickness examination is carried out on pressure-retaining components. All valves supplied by GTL are backed by the company's through-life support services.
